Shin gaiters (leg guards) for bushwhacking faster
Shin gaiters (leg guards) for bushwhacking faster
These shin gaiters (leg guards) protect your shins when bushwhacking. They allow you to boldly tackle any terrain when bushwhacking in adventure races or orienteering.
The shin pads are made of 7mm thick lightweight 3D mesh and ripstop fabric, which prevents thorns from reaching the skin and protects the shins from hard objects such as fallen trees.
The fabric used is highly stretchable except for the shin pads, so it fits well and doesn't feel loose. When there aren't many brushstrokes and it's hot, you can control your body temperature by lowering the gaiters. Even with the gaiters lowered, you can run comfortably without feeling loose.
Anti-slip rubber is sewn into the top to prevent it from slipping down or getting caught in bushes.
Because they are long enough, when combined with regular 3/4 length pants and shoe gaiters, they are strong enough to withstand the undergrowth without exposing any skin. We always wear 3/4 length pants with shin gaiters, which has the advantage of preventing heat from building up in the lower body compared to long tights or long pants, as air can flow in and out from the bottom of the 3/4 length pants. In addition, when there is little undergrowth and it is hot, the shin gaiters can be lowered, making it easy to adjust according to temperature changes and terrain conditions during the race, so it is a style we are particular about.
Since I discovered Navigation Sports, I have tried many socks and gaiters, but I have never found anything that satisfied me. Some had hard cushioning to enhance protection, and were loose and did not fit well, others were too stiff to run with the gaiters lowered, and others had a good fit but poor protection. I created a shin gaiter that is perfect for our three-quarter length pants style, focusing on a lightweight 3D mesh fabric and a fit that does not interfere with running.
